Children's personal data
Buronia is a service for adults (18+). However, several benefits are about children — Kindergeld in Germany, family allowances in Spain, child-care benefits in Finland. When you draft such an application, the form contains your child's name, date of birth, and sometimes their care or health status. This page explains how that data is treated.
Effective 2026-04-30.
Buronia accounts are for adults
Buronia does not target children, does not market to children, and does not knowingly create accounts for users under 18. If you are under 18, do not create an account and do not submit personal data.
When children's data appears on a draft
Examples:
- Kindergeld (Germany) — names and birth dates of all dependent children.
- Pflegegrad for a child — health and care-need data for the dependent child.
- IMV (Spain) — household composition including minors.
- Lapsilisä (Finland) — child names and birth dates.
In every such case, the parent or legal guardian is the Buronia account-holder. The child's data is processed under Art. 6(1)(b) (you have a contract with us to draft a benefit application that requires that data), with the parent acting under Art. 8 GDPR / national parental-responsibility law as the holder of the consent for the child.
Special protections we apply
- Children's data fields use the same encryption and access controls as Art. 9 special-category data, even where strictly the field would only fall under Art. 6.
- Children's data is never used for any purpose other than drafting the named application.
- Children's data is never transmitted to a sub-processor for purposes other than the draft (e.g. the address autocomplete is not invoked for child fields).
- Children's data is deleted on the same 30-day-after-last-activity schedule as the rest of the draft, or immediately on parental request.
Parental rights
As the parent/guardian, you exercise all GDPR rights on the child's behalf — see Your data rights. When the child reaches the age of digital consent in your country (16 in DE/LT, 14 in ES, 13 in FI under Tietosuojalaki), they may exercise the rights themselves.
